    • The aircraft was purchased new in 1986 from Mann Aviation, the authorized Fairchild Aircraft distributor in England. The new owner registered the aircraft in Somalia where he resided and operated a large construction business. The owner hired two pilots, one from Belgium and the other from Austria to fly his aircraft in furtherance of his business. The Somalia government collapsed in the 1990’s resulting in the owner’s quick departure to Madagascar with the aircraft. He lost his business and financial holdings in Somalia. The owner passed away in 2001. Since his passing the aircraft had not flown until it was delivered to Worldwide Aircraft Services in Springfield, MO where maintenance and refurbishment took place. The owner’s quick departure from Somalia resulted in the loss of the original engine and airframe logbooks
