    Description
Complete restoration in 2019 at Wiley Post airport where she was built in 1959. Won Sun N Fun Best contemporary Twin 2019. One owner last 22 years. As close to perfect condition as can realistically be maintained. Always hangared. Carry 7 people in complete comfort with 300 lb capacity huge baggage compartment. The ONLY reason I am selling this plane is I’m losing my large hangar and have to get something with a smaller wingspan to fit in a T Hangar. Over $450,000 spent restoring this aircraft someone will get an incredible deal. Cruises solid 165 knots on 28 GPH with bulletproof O540’s. DOES NOT HAVE GEARED ENGINES! Most desirable Twin Commander model ever made. Gear does not turn 90 degrees when retracting, 6” more legroom than 500B’s or Shrikes. No recurring spar AD. There are only 3 minor AD’s that even apply to the “straight” 500. Over $72,000 spent just in sheet metal work when painted every ding of all those years fixed perfectly! All sheetmetal work, and installation of 3 point harnesses, performed by the craftsmen at Associated Aero at Wiley Post. Cabin door and doorframe completely rebuilt- closes like a refrigerator door. Most of the corrugated control surfaces were re-skinned using the ORIGINAL tooling which was found in the old Aero Commander assembly hangar! Gorgeous aircraft- flies regularly- about 100 hrs a year so EVERYTHING works! Intensive annual just completed on 5/2/20 by Corporate Aircraft Services at CRG. All times as of completion of the last annual on 5/2/20. Serious inquiries only.
