The North American T-28 series has proven to be one of the
most versatile and widely used trainers of the postwar era.
This painstakingly restored T-28C is one of the finest available,
featuring the same paint scheme and detailing that it
displayed during active duty on board the USS Lexington in
the early 1970’s.
This aircraft incorporates the powerful Wright Cyclone R-
1820-86B aircooled radial engine, with more than 1,400
horsepower. Performance is exhilarating, with a maximum
speed of nearly 350 mph and a service ceiling of 35,500 ft.
Although it was designed to be a practical workhorse of a
plane, the Trojan is a joy to fly.
This aircraft, nicknamed “Mi Sancha,” (Spanish for “My
Mistress”) has received an extensive, ground-up restoration
over a 2 year period and is in superb condition. its impeccable
condition and careful attention to detail make it an
award winner and crowd “getter” wherever it goes.
