    Description
N43XX currently operates as a private aircraft out of Riverside CA. This example was built as a C-53 "Sky trooper" in 1942 at the historic Douglas plant in Santa Monica. She served in the Mediterranean Theater during WWII and has been documented as participating in the airborne invasions of Sicily and Southern Italy operating out of North Africa while on strength with the 62nd troop carrier group. Today she is configured as a corporate aircraft with 20 seats. The current operator obtained FAA deviation authority to allow operation under 14 CFR Part 91. She is currently airworthy and attended Airventure in 2019. She can be seen at various locations and as a regular attendee at various shows around the Southern california area each year. The current owner has invested significantly in her development and she now boasts a pair of very low time Anderson R-1830-92 engines. The interior has always been admired for its blend of high density airline seating with a high quality corporate fit and finish.
