The aircraft has been recovered from New Guinea and initially registered in Australia. Later, it has been brought to the US and registered as N537BR. Curtiss P-40 Warhawk was an American single-engined, all-metal fighter and ground attack aircraft that first flew in 1938. The Warhawk was used by most Allied powers during WWII and remained in frontline service until the end of the war.
