Origional builder had built two Lancairs previously and was an Aerospace/Nuclear engineer. The builder was getting up in age and the airplane only flew for a total of 40 hours before he was no longer able to fly, and it was parked in 2009.. The builder's family hangared the airplane in dry Eastern Idaho from 2010 -2017, when the previous owner bought it from his estate and flew it back to Texas. In the last three years, it has flown 120 hours. The plane was built from a full Makelan kit, all welding and metal fittings were done at the factory. Covering, painting and custom leather interior were professionally done. Engine is a 160 hp Lycoming 0-320-D3G from a Piper Warrior. The engine has @355 hrs. The carburetor was replaced with an overhauled unit and the propellor was replaced with a new Sensenich. All work was completed by a A/P mechanic.
