Known affectionately as "Cover Girl", N28031 is arguably one of the most pristine and pedigreed Bellanca Super Vikings flying today. Cover Girl was the factory demonstration aircraft for Bellanca in 1979 and was featured prominently on the cover of Private Pilot Magazine in 1979.
In 2016, Cover Girl was brought to Carpenter Avionics in Smyrna, TN where it underwent an extensive panel upgrade from a mostly stock 1979 Bellanca panel to a state-of-the-art all glass cockpit.
One of the goals with the upgrade was to totally eliminate the vacuum system, which was accomplished by the installation of a combination of Garmin, Avidyne, and Sandia products. Additionally, the upgraded panel integrated a JPI ETM-900 and a King KFC-200 Autopilot which can be fully coupled with aircraft navigation systems to provide a seamless interface that makes instrument flying effortless.
During the avionics installation, the owner used the opportunity to ensure that no detail was overlooked. With the panel removed, old ducting and other aged materials discovered in the disassembly process were completely replaced. The upgrade included a complete aircraft avionics rewire, all ducting, bundles, bracing, brackets, and new custom panel.
In addition to the avionics upgrade, during the deconstruct the owner decided it was time for a new interior. The high quality fully reupholstered FAA-approved interior and seating materials include custom embroidered seats, panels, headliner, carpet, baggage compartment, and more. The owner truly spared no expense to make N28031 the benchmark Bellanca Super Viking!
Aircraft is Currently at Weber's Aero Repair in Alexandria, MN for SALE Preparation and WILL BE DELIVERED WITH FRESH ANNUAL.
