Description
This is NOT a light sport aircraft. This is one of the most impressive aircraft on the market, it is fully certified, IFR certified aircraft. The body including the tail is made of Carbon Fiber (the same material that F1 Cars are made from), you can hammer on it all day and it won’t dent or break and it is extremely light. The wings are made of simple aluminum and so is the horizontal stabilizer. This is one of the lowest cost aircraft to insure out there, because the wings and tail are designed to be removed, and can be within minutes. Annuals take approximately 10 man hours to complete.
However that is not it, this aircraft is powered by a Continental IOF-240 engine that provides 125 H.P. enough for 125 knots burning just 5 gph. Yes that is right, 5 gph, and this because the engine is equipped with a FADEC from Continental. Most jet pilots including myself are very familiar with FADEC’s on our jet engines, this is a amazing piece of equipment. The FADEC monitors the internal cylinder condition 1000 times a second and change spark timing and the amount of fuel to create the best power and efficiency for a given temperature and pressure altitude. That is why this aircraft is the most efficient aircraft on the market.
Now that does not mean you are cramped in the cockpit. This cockpit is huge, just about 50 inches wide, it is wider than a 210 and slightly larger than a Seneca/Saratoga. The rudder peddles are adjustable. This is an extremely comfortable aircraft to fly and to fly in. All power is set via percent power and there is only a single leaver. Set your percent power and the computer takes care of everything else.
From a safety of flight, this aircraft is a all electrical aircraft, with duel batteries, and no vacuum system. All instruments are electrically driven.
Total usable fuel is 27 gallons (which gives you 4 hours flying at 125 knots with a 1.5 hour reserve). With fuel fuel, the aircraft can hold approximatly 400 lbs. of passenger and cargo.
