The story: I bought this aircraft in March, 2014 to rack up multi-engine time in pursuit of an aviation career. Since then, I have put a great deal of time and money making this a turn-key aircraft. This included among many things, an engine overhaul due to failing camshaft tappets. I spared no expense in making this aircraft mechanically meticulous and it shows in the way it flies. Since I have bought it, I have racked up 200 hours of multi-engine time. I fly the plane regularly and it is a joy to fly! Search N3285P on flightaware just to see how much I’ve been flying this thing.
I am selling the plane for a multitude of reasons. First one being, I landed a job in aviation - it served its purpose. The second being, this job necessitates me taking a rather large pay cut and simultaneously means I need to relocate across the country. If it were not for these reasons, the only way I would be selling this airplane is to buy something bigger and faster. Still, I am in no rush to sell this airplane. It needs to go to a good home.
Comments: This is an excellent flying aircraft, a hot performer and also very forgiving on one engine. It’s IFR certified, and flies very well in IMC. It is an ideal aircraft for the weekend warrior, upcoming student, or those who are looking to build multi-engine time affordably. It’s a great plane for those who are looking for the safety and comfort of a twin engine aircraft. However, it is not a show plane by any means (Paint is 5/10 condition, with some blemishes, rash, and fading paint. Interior 6/10 condition, depending on how much you like the color red). It is also not ideal for those who shy away from hand flying over long distances.
You will not find a better sorted out twin engine aircraft in this end of the market. Do not be fooled by aircraft that have been sitting for years neglected.
