Just a little background; The M20S Eagle was originally offered by Mooney in 1999 as a lower priced version of the M20R ‘Ovation’, the very successful normally aspirated Mooney that began production in 1994. When the production of the M20J (201/205/MSE) ended in 1998, a void was created in the Mooney line for a less expensive plane. Thus the Eagle was born. Scaled down in many ways, the Eagle lacked what is standard in most Ovations and Bravos from the same era, stuff that a lot of Mooney guys take for granted. That is the story of the Eagle model. BUT this Eagle is anything but scaled down. But it gets even better: You get all that additional equipment and Ovation cruise performance (180+ KTAS) at a large discount to the comparable Ovations on the market.
