    Description
Reluctantely offered for sale is my 1966 Turbo Twin Comanche. I will keep her if I don't get a fair price but I now own 4 airplanes and this one and my aerostar basically do the same thing for me so this one gets sold. I will add to the listing the exact times and hours when I get that from my mechanic. The current ones are close estimates. Basically the airframe has around 6000-7000 hours. One engine is at right at TBO and the other just under mid time. However, there was a nose gear colapse in 2008 which resulted in new props and engines have been torn down with new rods cylinders and many new parts and although it was not considered an overhaul it was close to one so consider this in your purchase desision. The only other damage history the plane had was a minor incident in 1966. Hardly worth mention. I have pictures of the gear colapse accident. There was zero structural damage as the plane basically slid a few hundred feet on the colasped wheels. It was not a gear up and I was aware of the problem when I landed it. Power and fuel were off as it was not a surprise incident. So, the high time engine and the damage history are the negatives. Here are the positives. This is a plane in excellent condition which I have maintained to high standards. Complete logs showing regular oil changes and superior maintenance. I have regurally flown her and always been hangered. No hail damage and paint and interior in good condition. A couple years ago all wiring was removed for the avionics and new avionics were installed. The avionics are nice very up to date and work as they should. This bird has everything you could possibly dream up with exception of a newer autopilot (something with altitude) and de-ice. I live in Texas and don't make it a habit to fly a comanche in ice so thats not a big deal to me. When I transitioned to twins, this was my first one. I choose it because of what I felt was superior appearance and style, economy, speed and most important safety. Not many twins revile its features. Close to 200kts at altitude burning less than 9gph per side. Counter rotating props and turbos able to climb to 19000 feet on one engine. You will be hard pressed to find many twin comanche turbo cr's. This one has roughly the same performance as a high performance single with the safety of the second engine for the same money in fuel costs. They are highly sought out even in the down twin market with fuel prices as they are. Additionally, if you find one it is doubtful they will be as well equipped as I have made this one. If you have not used a real active traffic system in the past you will be happy to have this one. One good mid-air collision more than pays for the investment. Hopefully that will never happen to you with or without this system but anything I can do to improve my safety and chances I recommend and I have had a few close encounters that I would have never seen without the system. If the one high time engine is a deal breaker, I would be willing to have it overhauled at my shop for an additional negotiated price and handle the work for the new buyer. I have had the aircraft appaised by a certified appraiser. I am happy to forward that report based on current market sales to anyone with a serious interest. The value is $104,000. Additionally, I will offer the plane at $17,500 less whatever the auction ending bid for removing the 530 and 497/wx1000 system. The wiring, connectors and anntenas will remain but the trays and processors will be removed at that discount.
