Simply stunning. Always hangared. Does what a 172 does except on one tank. Excellent maintenance. Perfect for fun sight-seeing. This Diamond Katana is simply stunning. Maintenance has gone above and beyond to keep this airplane in perfect condition. Always in a hangar, not a shed or simple cover. It has running new hardware since the 6000 hour inspection, new engine, uses no oil and runs on Mo Gas or 100LL. We have the burn rate dialed down to about 5 gal/hour with speeds of 120IAS. Does what a 172 does except on one tank. The canopy / stick / rudder combination makes this airplane a thrill and a joy to fly. Perfect for fun sight-seeing.

This airplane has been maintained every 25 hours from a full time mechanic. The oil filter is always checked and replaced at 50 hours. The damage history consists of one off field landing. The old Rotax was equipped with a Tanis heater. The Tanis temperature probe was placed inside a bolt which held on the number 2 cylinder cover. The hollow bolt split and the cylinder cover was loosened. This resulted in all of teh oil departing the airplane. The aircraft was landed in a groomed / plowed field with no damage to the frame at all. The engine was replaced by Rotax without a Tanis heater. This is not an overhauled engine, it is brand new from the factory. Just after the landing, the aircraft went into annual and the factory required 6000 hour airframe inspection. All control service bushings were replaced, along with all old hardware. This airplane has been carefully cared for.

Brand New Engine, Rotax 912 100hp, from factory. Everything firewall forward on this airplane was replaced in December 2011 (hoses, wires, clamps, mounts, everything!)
