    Modifications/Conversions

    Modifications/Conversions
Aircraft History: The experimental aircraft kit was produced by Sequoia Aircraft Company who currently sell the Falco Kit. Approximately 10 full kits were produced in the late 1970’s. Only one other kit was completed and flown. N48BL was the first to fly (See http://www.seqair.com/Other/Baugh/Baugh.html) and was used as the factory test aircraft. Full construction and test flight records are available. Alfred Smith, the owner and developer of the Sequoia 300, is available through their company website and can provide parts and information.

Standard “six-pack” flight instrument arrangement Narco 800 Nav/Com + Indicator Garmin 496 GPS with moving map (Gizmo panel-mounted), weather capable with XM subscription Narco Transponder 2-place Intercom Dual push-to-talk Ameritech ELT Owner’s note: “The addition of a Dynon D10 EFIS with dual-axis autopilot for $4000 would make it IFR”.

    Additional Equipment

    Additional Equipment
Owner’s note: “Performance is outstanding. Cruises at over 200 kts, take off at 80 kts, and land at 75 kts. Stall speed is 60 kts. This is a very high performance responsive aircraft with a roll rate twice that of the Vans RV 6, 7, and 8 series yet it is predictable and a joy to fly! The wing airfoil is taken from the Piper Malibu and combined with the higher weight of the aircraft and high wing loading the aircraft is extremely stable in turbulence. Fuel consumption is lower than the usual due to the electronic ignitions and GAMI injectors which allow a lean of peak operation.”

    Exterior

    Exterior Notes

(Could be increased with internal auxiliary fuel tanks) Landing Gear: Hydraulic retractable landing gear with emergency hand pump and full mechanical up and down locks. There are currently no landing gear doors on the main gear.
