Description
PRICE REDUCED! This one-of-a-kind North American AT-6C military trainer, nicknamed “The General’s Mistress,” has been completely restored. Following her restoration, the aircraft won the “Best T6” award and the “SNAP-ON Silver Wrench” award at Oshkosh. Since then, “The General’s Mistress” has always been kept in a conditioned hangar and remains in museum quality.
The first T-6 flight took place in 1935. Overall, approximately 15,000 of these aircraft were built. These single-engine advanced trainers were used to train United States Air Force pilots, Navy pilots and other allied forces during World War II and into the 1950s. During the Korean and Vietnam Wars, T-6 aircraft were equipped with 20lb bombs and machine guns to combat gangs on the ground.
This particular T6 was built in 1942 and used by the US Armed Forces as a trainer aircraft during World War II. Following WWII, it was transported to Italy for further allied forces training. The aircraft returned to the US during the 1960’s for decommission and civilian ownership.
Whether you’re a history buff or a thrill seeking pilot, “The General’s Mistress” is an investment worth your consideration.
