    History: This plane has great history! “Born” June 25, 1937 The “Gilmore Oil Lockheed 12A” Used as Lockheed’s promotional aircraft for Model 12A Flown to 5th place in Bendix Trophy Air Races in 1937 by world-champion stunt pilot Milo Burcham (1937 Los Angeles newspaper article) Flown by Howard Hughes’ primary flight instructor,Charlie LaJotte (1939 Los Angeles Times article) Military service flying French generals (LeClerc and De Gaulle) and combat – dropping hand grenades from cabin door! (French military livery)
