The French Air Force had originally ordered the aircraft shown in the exhibition. However, the aircraft could not be delivered finally due to the German invasion of France. The aircraft was first used by the Canadian Air Force and subsequently (1943 – 1945) by the Royal Air Force as a trainer. The North American AT-6 was used as a military trainer aircraft for advanced pilots in the States and in the countries of the Common Wealth (AT is the abbreviation for “advanced trainer”).
