The Hawker Hunter was first designed in the early 1950’s and overtime was employed by many foreign governments. Eventually Hawker built almost 2000 Hunters making them the most commercially successful British military jet ever produced.
The T.Mk.7 is a two seat model, ideal for training, enjoying aerobatics with a friend, or taking advantage of the large storage compartments in the belly and nose to cruise to a weekend destination in style. An absolute joy to fly, safe with predictable flight characteristics. Hydraulic controls with manual backup. Both ejection seats are live and with current recent inspections. No GPU needed to start engine, this Hunter has an updated and very reliable self contained battery start system.
A real hot rod achieving its best rate of climb at 430 knots, maximum IAS is 620 knots and max speed in level flight is .94 mach reaching supersonic speeds in a 30 degree dive. ...ceiling of 50,000 feet Maximum fuel capacity is 977 gal consisting of 497 gal. of internal capacity and another 480 gal with four 120 gal drop tanks. The burn rate in fast cruise at 25,000 feet is 36 lb/min with 2 drop tanks fitted.
The Hunter is powered by a Rolls-Royce Avon 122 jet engine developing 7,575 lb static thrust having only 744 hrs (1000+ TBO) of gentle use. This plane is sold with many spares, too many to list, including a spare engine; details available upon request. Training, parts, suppliers and expertise readily available for easy and manageable operation.
This Hunter has had numerous upgrades including a battery self start system eliminating the need for a GPU (Ground Power Unit), new avionics which includes a Chelton Flightlogic EFIS MFD, US Oxygen mods, and a smoke system. N617NL flew with Northern Lights Aerobatic Display Team then was owned and operated by Appleton Adrenalin Airsports in Biose, ID until 2005.
