    Description
The Orlik is powered by a Pratt and Whitney PT6A-25A 550 horsepower engine. It has a 3-blade constant speed, full feathering and reversible Hartzell propeller (HC-B3TN-3B). This Orlik was the prototype aircraft for the P&W powered Orliks. It has been completely renovated since 2008. All of the “East Bloc” equipment was removed and replace with state of the art U.S. products and wiring. Both of the tandem cockpits feature dual screen Cheltons. The front cockpit has an additional back up EFIS. The aircraft is equipped with an autopilot and a computerized oxygen system. The wheels and brakes have been converted to a standard Cleveland model. After the restoration, there was a complete flight test program (40 hrs) completed by a top military/civilian test pilot. A new approved GAMA Spec . One pilot operating handbook has been written, as well as new maintenance books to reflect the current aircraft. This is the only PZL Orlik in civilian ownership. The Orlik is one of the finest flying tandem military type trainers available anywhere. Videos are available online of the Polish Air Force Demo Team flying their Orliks.
