    Description
This aircraft had originally been designed for the role of a trainer aircraft. However, the U-2 aircrafts have been used for multiple purposes ever since due to their flexibility. After a development time of about half a year the prototype took off for its first flight on 7 January in 1928. Its simple operation and maintenance as well as an enormous flight stability led to its mass production as of 1930. The manufacturing of a total number of 40,000 Po2 aircrafts has made it the most produced aircraft in the world. The number of 100,000 engines manufactured is quite impressive, too Technical information First flight: 1928 Manufakturer: Polikarpow; Konstrukteur: Nikolai Polikarpow Engine: Schwezow M-11D, 5-Zylinder-Radialengine Power: 125 hp Titel length: 8,21 m Wingspan: 11,38 m Total height: 3,00 m Empty weight: 825 kg Max. takeoff weight: 1.200 kg Max. speed: 155 km/h Service ceiling: 3.350 m Max.
