According to the Velocity factory, it hit the beginning runway pavement that was about 1 foot higher then the land/ grass it was on. It sheered off the retractable gear system, scraped the belly and struck the propeller. In 2011 the Velocity factory did a complete new gear installation, a major airframe inspection, installed new propeller blades, re-tested this aircraft, and started its test flights with a 0 timed log book entry. The Velocity factory re-tested/ flew this Velocity and recorded 40.3 hours of test-flight time. One of the Velocity A&P's logged this Velocity as Safe and Airworthy after the Velocity factory repairs and testing.
