Everything possible was done to make this aircraft equal to the highest possible standards and is like new throughout. This is a Yak without equal anywhere in the world.

    Airframe

    Airframe Notes
    COMPLETE rebuild: All parts completely disassembled down to basic components;structure thoroughly inspected. Fuselage steel cage walnut shell blasted. Reinforced and gusseted in critical places for added strength. Other tube structure repaired or replaced per AC43. Fabric on rear fuselage replaced. Most wing skins removed and replaced with new; all spars and ribs stripped and repaired as necessary. Structure stripped, etched & primed with epoxy two-part primer. All landing gear parts stripped, inspected, & dye checked. Hard chrome removed, rechromed, & reground. All seals retooled & replaced with new. New axels designed & fitted to accept Cleveland wheels and disc brakes. All new gear doors fitted. Inner gear doors designed, fabricated, & fitted. Wing halves joined using NAS hardware. All new aileron & flap linkages. Gear cylinders machined & plated; all inner parts replaced. All parts Cad II plated. Tail group stripped, inspected, & rebuilt. You get the picture...

    Engine

    Engine Notes
    P&W R-2000-4, 1425 hp. 139 hours since teardown and IRAN including new master rod, bearings, and nose case oil pump. Approx. 310 since military overhaul. Engine mount designed by Bruce Boland. Custom exhaust. Larger oil tank. All fittings redesigned and improved. SS heat shield. Polished SS firewall.

    Canopies made from scratch. Tail wheel designed and made from scratch including retract mechanism and cylinder. Pneumatic system rebuilt from scratch, including emergency blow down of landing gear.
