The Embraer Legacy 500 Executive Jet (model designation EMB-550) will be a high performance Mid Size Jet, designed to passenger transportation in the business aviation market. Its impressive cabin size and state-of-the-art technology were conceived to meet the increasing demand for high quality business aircraft in this promising market segment giving the best combination between High Technology comfort, reliability, high quality and low operating costs. The Embraer Legacy 500 Executive Jet will be predominantly of aluminum alloy construction, with optimized utilization of composite materials to reduce the weight. It will be a low-winged monoplane, “T” tailed vertical and horizontal stabilizers with retractable tricycle type double-wheeled nose and main landing gear. It will be equipped with two Honeywell HTF7500E medium bypass ratio turbofan engine mounted on aft fuselage pylons with 7.036 Lbs of thrust, ISA+18°C Flat Rating and "On- Condition" Overhaul. Fuel will be stored in integral wing tanks located in each semi-wing and extended to the wing-stub, offering outstanding range for the typical missions of its category The primary flight control systems (elevators, ailerons, rudder and multi-function spoilers) will be electronically-controlled and powered by electro-hydraulic servo actuators (EHSA) using the Embraer state-of-art digital Fly-by-Wire (FBW) technology. The Embraer Legacy 500 avionics system is the State-of-the -Art Rockwell Collins Pro LineFusion™ combining the success of Pro Line 21 with key technological advancements. The aircraft was certified in transport category aircraft standards by ANAC – Brazilian Civil Aviation National Agency, FAA – Federal Aviation Administration of the United States and EASA – European Aviation Safety Agency, complying with the RBHA 25, FAR 25, and CS-25, including VFR, IFR, day, night, and RVSM operation. that eventually will affect the performance, and may be subject to additional costs.
