Airframe Restoration
- Total disassembly. Tube frame inspected and bent tubes repaired yellow tagged and replaced as per manufacturer’s instructions. Tube frame powder coated. Anti-corrosion preventing fluid replaced as per manufacturer’s instructions. Firewall inspected found to be in good shape reinstalled on tubeframe using new hardware. Siderails stripped and inspected and repainted installed on tube frame using
all new hardware. Rudder Pedals disassembled and inspected and painted and reassembled using new hardware. Master Cylinders using new cups and seals reinstalled on tube frame using new hardware. Footrails rebuilt using new wood and reattached to tubeframe using new hardware. Factory new windscreen installed. Instrument panels stripped and inspected reinstalled using new shockmounts. Instrumentation yellow tag overhauled and replaced using new hardware. All tubing and hoses replaced with new as per manufacturers requirements. Seats stripped and inspected repaired where necessary and repainted. Seatrails stripped inspected and replated, installed on tubeframe using new hardware and new bungies. Canopy sliderails inspected and installed on tubeframe using new hardware. Canopy’s disassembled and inspected and replaced all windows canopy latch cables and rollers and installed on tubeframe using new hardware. Trim wheels and trim gearboxes disassembled and inspected all parts out of spec were replaced. All external surfaces of trim wheels and gearboxes painted and reinstalled on tubeframe using new hardware . Monocoupe stripped and inspected all hardware replaced including new pulleys for the control cables at appropriate points in Monocoupe as per manufactures instructions. Center section stripped both externally and internally and cleaned for inspection. Center section repaired where necessary. Applied fuel tank sealant and sloshing compound as per manufacturer’s instructions. Wobble Pump disassembled and inspected new seals and gaskets installed. Pump installed in center section using new hardware as per manufacturer’s instructions. Fuel Gages- yellow tagged fuel gages installed as per Manufacturer’s instructions Main Gear Struts disassembled and inspected new seals and o-rings installed and reassembled. Brake assemblies disassembled and inspected and repaired as necessary and reassembled. New Brake shoes and overhauled drums installed as per manufacturer’s instructions. Gear reattached to center section using new hardware. Cockpits tube section and Centersection reassembled using new hardware as per manufacture instructions.
New Tires and tubes installed as per manufacturer’s instructions Wheels were then installed on the main gear as per manufactures instructions. Tailwheel and tail gear were disassembled and inspected and repaired as necessary and reassembled as per manufacturer’s instructions. New Tire and Tube were installed on the Tailwheel as per manufactures instructions. Monocoupe reinstalled on tubeframe as per manufacturer’s instructions and using new hardware. Tail fin and tail wings stripped and inspected and painted and then reinstalled on Monocoupe. Control Surfaces stripped cleaned and inspected new fabric applied as per manufacturer’s instructions using the Polyfiber process as per STC. Flap gear box and linkage disassembled, cleaned and inspected and reinstalled on the center section using new hardware as per the manufacturer’s instructions. Wings were stripped and all control bellcranks and attaching hardware was removed. Wings were inspected and repaired as necessary. Belicranks were reinstalled using new hardware and reinstalled on the center section using new hard ware as per the manufacturer’s instructions. Control surfaces installed using new hardware as manufacturer’s instructions. Trim Tab mechanism overhauled and reinstalled. All new Control Cables installed as per manufacturer’s instructions using all new hardware. All cables had cable tension set as per manufacturer’s instructions. Electrical Wiring completely replaced using aviation grade Teflon coated wire and all electrical connectors replaced using Thomas and Betts connectors as per manufactures instructions. All Switches, Circuit Breakers, Reverse Current Relay, Battery Relay and Generator relay replaced with new items using part numbers found in Vultee Manufacturers parts manual. Motor Mount installed on airframe using new hardware. Dish Pan cleaned and inspected found to be in good condition and reinstalled on airframe. R985 AN3 Engine installed using new motor mount rubbers and bolts as per manufacturer’s instructions. All accessories overhauled and yellow tagged installed on engine. All fuel lines oil lines and engine wiring replaced with new items. See engine log for details on engine and accessory items. Cowling and Inspection panels stripped and inspected and repaired as necessary and repainted and reinstalled on airframe.
