    The L-139 was developed to meet the requirements of a new generation of jet trainers. It is a modernized derivative of the proven L-39. Many systems have been improved and modernized: - Highly reliable and fuel efficient Garrett TFE731-4 engine, with 4080 lbs. of thrust. - Optional toe-brake system upgrade. - Ejection seats upgraded to VS2 seats. - Optional oxygen system upgrade to OBOGS (On-Board Oxygen Generating System). - Avionics upgraded to modern glass flight displays (currently removed?your option to re-install or de-sign a new panel). - Cruise: 360 Kts+ - Range 890 NM+ with internal fuel, 1500 NM with drop tanks. - Climb rate 4000 feet/min.

    Engine TT: 413.35 hrs since new in 1995 TBO: 4200 hrs w/ HSI at 1400 hrs Type: Allied Signal (Garrett) TFE 731-4 Turbofan Take-off thrust: 4,080 lbs. The TFE 731-4 is a two-spool turbofan with a geared, single-stage front fan. The four-stage low pressure axial compressor and the one-stage fan are driven by a three-stage low pressure turbine. The engine is controlled by a Digital Electronic Control System (DEEC), with two levels of redundancy. The DEEC provides starting schedule, acceleration and decel-eration control, automatic power changes due to ambient conditions, over-speed protection, surge control and turbine temperature limiting. Starting is also controlled by a starter generator.

    The L-139 features an advanced, integrated Bendix-King glass-cockpit (front and rear) that was designed for advanced military flight training and weapons-training. The instruments are presently removed from the cockpit, but thanks to its modular design, all cockpit instrumentation can be quickly returned to stock configuration - or the panel can be modified as desired.
