The engine completed its 7-year corrosion inspection and hot section inspection in Feb 2014. It has flown less than 10 hours since that inspection. We have complete inspection and component replacement information as well as the engine balancing and vibration reports after it was installed.

This aircraft is one of only a handful of Pratt&Whitney JT-12 conversions in the country. We have found this conversion (done by Eastern Bloc Air Services) to be an ideal match for the L-29. Unlike a Viper-modded jet, in this installation we have a lighter-than-original engine, and the match of compressor inlet size to L-29 duct size is ideal. The resulting highly efficient installation gives nearly twice the installed thrust of the original engine, at a much better specific fuel consumption and with the security of flying with Pratt&Whitney. This jet is the sister ship of the L-29 that won the jet class at Reno, and has the same modified wingtips and splitter plates for reduced drag. The modifications have also greatly reduced induced drag while maneuvering and lowered the stall speed by about seven knots.

Aircraft is IFR equipped for ILS / VOR / DME operations. It is currently equipped with one King VHF radio and an ARC-164 UHF radio, with the comm panel set up for a third radio (PRC-152). Aircraft has a functional gunsight, or it can be removed to facilitate mounting of either a Garmin or iPad in its place.

Aircraft comes with two fully functioning external fuel tanks and pylons. Includes military parachutes with bailout bottles. As a note, since this aircraft is equipped for UHF and secure radio communications we always offer a lease back option that would allow you to generate some revenue with the aircraft if our customers are looking for contract support with the jet.
