Description
The low wing all composite UrbanAir Samba debuted in 1999 and quickly won numerous awards. A composite sandwich arrangement is used for significant portions of the aero-structure including the wing spars and landing gear. The aircraft has a respectable cruising speed, but still retains benign low speed handing as a result of its slotted flaps. Optional winglet extensions are available to increase the wing span to 49ft giving the Samba a glide ratio of 21:1. With the winglet extensions installed and turning the engine off, soaring becomes a viable option with this aircraft. With its slide-back canopy and seating position located forward of the wing, the Samba has exceptional outside visibility in flight. The low wing all composite UrbanAir Samba debuted in 1999 and quickly won numerous awards!
