The fuselage of the Mi-2 has a semi-monocoque metal construction, consists of three parts: the nose, where the crew cabin, central - with the passenger compartment, and the tail, which includes the tail boom with a controlled stabilizer.

The carrier system includes a three-bladed rotor with rectangular blades and two-blade tail rotor steering. On the main rotor hydraulic dampers installed. Control collective and cyclic pitch of the rotor is carried out by means of hydraulic actuators. In case of failure of the hydraulic system the pilot can use manual control.

At the tail boom is controlled by a stabilizer; its turning angle is changed automatically in accordance with changes in pitch of the rotor blades. On the agricultural version of the system is installed spraying liquid chemicals, it includes: tanks on each side of the fuselage, with total capacity of 1000 liters and boom sprayer length of 14 m, with 128 nozzles, which provide splashing chemicals over an area the width of 40-45 m, or spray dry chemicals a total weight of 750 kg, contained in two containers with the nozzles. In search and rescue modification has electric winch lifting capacity of 120 kg, while the transport version - a hook for suspension of external loads of up to 800 kg. In the embodiment, intended for environmental monitoring, there is a thermal imaging equipment.
