Description
The T211 SLSA aircraft is factory built. The airframe got its Type Certificate in 1946 and has never had an AD! A great airplane for flight training. Mild stall characteristics. Will not spin. Rugged oleo strut main and nose gear. Will not bounce. It sticks to the runway! Cruise speed 100 knots with a climb prop. This airplane was a "cover girl" for Todays Pilot magazine's flight test of the Thorpedo LSA. Full zinc chromate corrosion protection on this aluminum airframe. The Jabiru 120 HP, six cylinder, horizontally opposed, air cooled, direct drive engine was designed from the ground up as an aircraft engine. This is not a conversion. A very reliable engine with a 2000 hour TBO. Fly topless!. The sliding canopy can be opened in flight, or removed from the airplane completely for open air flying! Flight schools can use these airplanes for private pilot flight instruction, too. 560 lb useful load and 21 gallons of usable fuel. Cruise fuel burn is 6 gallons per hour. Auto fuel capable (we always burn 100LL avgas). We are a dealer and flight school so this airplane has served us as our demonstrator airplane and has served in our flight school. Incredible Flight Trainer, Incredible Paint, Incredible Fun! Many photos at website.
Airframe
Airframe Notes
No Airworthiness Directives on this airframe since the Type Certificate was issued in 1946! John Thorp got it right the first time. The SLSA version of this airframe was changed only by the addition of 12 inches to each wingtip to lower the stall speed slightly to meet the 45 knot max required of LSA regulations. Other changes were "firewall forward" with the addition of the Jabiru engine and new cowling.

Engine Notes
120 HP. The Jabiru engine manufactured in Australia is not a conversion engine of any kind. It was designed from the ground up as an aircraft engine and is well proven. More than 3000 Jabiru engines have been delivered world wide. They have an excellent reputation for reliability and a 2000 hour TBO. The maintenance required to keep this airplane in the air is minimal. It is air cooled, direct drive, horizontally opposed and is a 6 cylinder engine with a displacement of 3.3 liters. The engine is equipped with an "altitude compensating" carburetor that requires no mixture adjustment when climbing or descending. The engine is equipped with dual magnetos for the ignition system and uses inexpensive motorcycle spark plugs and automotice oil filters.
Props
Prop Notes
Sensinich wood prop. Climb prop. This airplane literally jumps off the ground with this engine and prop combination. At max gross (1270 lbs) the airplane always achieves 1300 ft/min oinitial climb rate no matter what the OAT is.
Modifications/Conversions
Modifications/Conversions
The airplane is to be returned to the factory for cowling/wingtip and wheel pant upgrades for both appearance and performance.
Avionics
Avionics/Radios
Basic VFR instrumentation. Rate of climb. Electric turn and bank. Lowrance Airmap 2000 GPS. Becker transponder. 1 comm radio.
Additional Equipment
Additional Equipment
Wild custom yellow, white and lime green paint. Optional leather interior. Optional night flight kit so the airplane can be flown at night by a pilot holding a Private Pilot license or better.
Exterior
Exterior Notes
Wow! This airplane is an attention getter whereever it is flown. It is hard to walk away without asking about it. It had to be one of the most photographed airplane at the Sebring LSA Expo in January 2007 and at SunNFun 2007.

Interior
Interior Notes
Interior is nice tan color with tan leather seats. The floor carpeting will be replaced for the new owner because constant flight training has resulted in some wear.

Inspection Status
Inspection Status
The aircraft has been on a 100 hour inspection cycle because of our use of the airplane for flight training. The airplane will be delivered to the new owner with a fresh annual inspection at the time of delivery.
