Description
This aircraft was converted to a "B" model (long wing) by Grumman in December, 1956. It is presently stored at Specialized Aircraft Maintenance in Tucson, AZ where they have completed the following maintenance/restoration items: all 5 flight controls have been restored with Stits Polyfibre material. The Hull has had an inspection for corrosion and any bad floor panels have been replaced, tested, checked and resealed the landing gear, flaps and rudder boost systems. The engines have been depreserved and run. All the old military equipment and radio gear has been removed. An extra 4th cockpit seat has been installed. New tires are installed and a Landing Gear retraction and systems check performed. All exterior paint will be stripped and both carburetors are scheduled for overhaul. There are 4 cockpit seats, 3 double seats and 3 single seats in the cabin area and it comes with two 300 gallon drop tanks. This Albatross will be certified in the Restricted Category. 477/711 SPOH, Converted to "B" Model (Long Wing) by Grumman Dec. 1956
