Description
1949 Gloster Meteor T7 G-BWMF “The oldest jet capable of flight”.
Built in Hucklecote, Gloucestershire in 1949 this Meteor was delivered to the RAF Fighter Establishment at RAF West Raynham as WA591. After many years of service with an interesting history the aircraft retired from service in 1963 as she was deemed as being obsolete. Her subsequent life left her as a gate guard at RAF Woodvale, until being rescued buy a group of volunteers. In the mid 1990’s the planned restoration began, and later with the assistance and funding from The Classic Flight the aircraft was completed. The aircraft is now in full flying condition and is understood to be the oldest Jet capable of flight, making her a valuable and appreciating asset.
In summary an appreciating one off historic aircraft, that is fantastic value for money. This aircraft can be delivered with maintenance and parts support scheme with a new permit if required.
