    Airframe

    Airframe Notes
The SKYCAR has a non-traditional architecture which presents several advantages over its competitors. First of all, the fuselage is particularly wide and roomy, providing the passengers with the unmatched comfort of over 240 cubic feet of total internal volume. Then, the fuselage is shaped after a NACA wing profile, and it generates lift (up to 17% of the total lift of the aircraft). A lifting body has several aerodynamic advantages, among which the substantial reduction of drag. Lastly, the twin-tail boom configuration leaves space for an ample central rear door, which can be used on the ground for cargo operations, as well as for Search and Rescue Missions, or medical evacuation. The primary structure of the airplane is in aluminum, whereas the secondary structure is in composite materials.
