Description
One of the finest Beech 18s flying today. Delivered new in 1965 to IBM Chairman Thomas Watson, Jr. Previously owned by NASA Shuttle astronaut Jay Apt. This aircraft is superbly maintained by Blackhawk Aircraft Maintenance, Janesville, Wisconsin, the nation’s premier Beech 18 maintenance facility. Engines overhauled by Tulsa Aircraft Engines, the nation’s premier P&W R-985 engine facility.
Current owner purchased aircraft from astronaut Jay Apt in 2005. It underwent complete interior and exterior refurbishment in 2005. A new vintage paint scheme was designed especially for N223JW and was applied in cream, gold, and medium blue along with a completely refurbished interior. The aircraft has an enclosed baggage compartment with toilet.
N223JW is hangared at Blackhawk Aircraft Maintenance, Janesville, Wisconsin. It will be delivered to new owner with fresh annual inspection completed by Blackhawk. All logbooks are complete.
