    Description
2005 AMD ALARUS Private Party Sale! ONLY 330 tach Hours since new, This airplane is IFR certified with duel nav coms one being a Garmin 430 with traffic, and the Garmin transponder. The alarus garmin is linked to a HSI which allows for precise navigating. Very efficient and fun to fly on approximately 5 gph at 100 knots! Thats less than half the fuel and the same speed as Cessna 172s and piper comanches! The controls feel great comparable to driving a new car versus an old one, without slack and are not sloppy. There is positive feedback so that you feel the aircraft. The rate of climb is quite amazing for a small 116 HP engine. At a gross weight of 1,692 lbs., the indicated rate of climb at 63 Knots is +800 foot per minute I am 250 lbs, and flew regularly with a 230 lb instructor and still climbed out with half tanks at 500fpm with ease. My dad and I flew up to 13,500 in Flagstaff over Humphreys! Stall speed in landing configuration with flaps is 30 knots! The flying characteristics are unbeatable. It is very easy, smooth, quite, and natural to fly. The 116 HP Lycoming runs like it should with such few hours like new. It runs smooth and flawlessly and starts with ease every time. The Lycoming 0235-N2C powerplant engine is mounted on a super beefy engine mount (painted yellow). Other than a smaller light weight starter, everything firewall forward is classic. This includes the Sensenich propeller, carburetor air intake filter, muffler system etc. The powerplant area is very similar to the old Cessna 152 installation, using similar parts, a big plus for mechanics! A surprising feature of the Alarus is the positive controllability of the tail and ailerons at the stall. The Flight Manual recommends 60 Knot speed on final. Flaring the aircraft under the stall speed is simple, especially when trimming the stabilator by using the trim wheel. It is exceptionally effective and requires little effort to adjust yoke forces. Like most low wing aircraft, the Alarus "sticks" to the ground when landing and does not "float" down the runway. The plane nearly lands itself and can be stopped in a very short distance with practice. I have over 400 landings in the alarus, but When I perform short field landings, I can be stopped by the blocks with using only light braking. I fly regularly back and forth from Phx to Lake Havasu and cruise speed is consistently just under 100 knots. This is a true 9/10 with NO damage history and all LOGS. Maintenance has been outstanding. This is a turn key plane that is ready to go. It was flown several times a week until we purchased our new plane, but is still flown regularly. We are only selling as we purchased a SR20 for business use. $75,000 Please E-mail [email protected] with questions. Call 623-694-8714 anytime. 2005 AMD Alarus!
