    Description
    Begun 2000 and worked on over 10 years till owner retired from flying. Currently about 80-90% complete. Owner, designer, builder Barry Hooven is a high time pilot in the air since 1950. Has owned 4 aircraft and decided he should make one of his own design. Retirement from flying forces sale of the project.

    1700 lbs empty weight. Stores in a 30' x 8' garage space. Fuselage: Length 26' Width 46" (52" at cowl vents) Conventional construction. Type 4130 Aluminum used throughout. Tail section from Cessna 172 faired onto cockpit section. Motorized trim system behind rear seats. Fixed tricycle landing gear with hydraulic disc brakes. Wings: 30' 8" span X 60" cord. Super Piper Cub airfoil. Built-up main spar with 3" aluminum tube wiring tunnel. Rotate and fold to side of fuselage similar to WW 2 carrier aircraft. Folding portion ~12' each side. Control line quick disconnects. Strut braced when fully deployed. Square tips (changeable to your spec). Type 4130 Aluminum used throughout. 2 x 20 gallon tanks in wing. Lights and fuel lines wired through 3" tunnel.

    2.5 liter 1999 Subaru EJ25D Engine (bought in 2001 from salvaged 1999 Subaru w/rear damage). Rated 230 HP from 2.5 liters. Double OHC 4-valve heads. Low time since new (300-500 hour estimate). Electronic ignition. Twin radiators. Easy service of most necessary items. 1 gallon header fuel tank fed by wing tanks. Fuel injection fed by high pressure pump in header tank. Subaru EJ25D engines on web with low miles averaging $1500 to $2500.

    2 bladed Sensenich alloy prop M74DM-0-58 (S/N K7371). 74 diameter X 58 fixed pitch. Reduction to propeller: double row, roller chain (ratio 2:1), oil bath enclosed.
