    Modifications/Conversions

    Modifications/Conversions
This aircraft was originally built by Piper Aircraft Corporation as a Piper Aerostar mode 610P with Serial #61P-05250221. It was registered in the U.S. with tail number N8044J. In October 1981 the aircraft was upgraded by Machen Inc. in Spokane, Washington, to Machen Superstar II specifications with 310 TTSN hours on the airframe. This modification includes factory new 350 H.P. engines and low noise high thrust propellors as well as a host of other improvements. The increase in performance after the upgrade is substantial as shown in the charts taht are included. The aircraft was imported to Canada and reregistered with Canadian tail number C-FDKK. The aircraft the returned to the U.S. in 1995 and was Re-registered with tail nubmer N21VB to Van Bortel Aircraft Inc All Log Books(U.S. and Canadian are avialable by the prospective purchaser.

    Additional Equipment

    Additional Equipment
Installed Options De-Ice Systems: Wing and Empennage Pneumatic de-ice boots. Propellor Electric de-ice boots. Electrically heated windshield hot plate. Wing Ice-light. Sea Level Pressure Controller: With this option cabin pressurization starts at sea level. With the normal system no pressurization is available until the pressure altitude of teh cabin reaches 5000 feet. Synchrophaser System: Provides automatic propellor synchroniization as well as phasing. Removes the need to manually synchronize the propellors and ensures that the blades are out of phase with each other to minimize cabin noise. Low Pressure Boost Pump: It eliminates the unnecessary continuous high fuel pressure supplied by the standard auxiliary boost pumps, extending their service life. Auxiliary Fuselage Fuel Tank: Baggage compartment auxiliary metal tank installation taht provides an additional 42 gallonsof usable fuel. The fuel is transferred to the main fuselage tank via a pilot controlled electric fuel pump. Easily field removable to provided additional cargo space. Auxiliary Hydrualic System: In the event of the right engine failure or failure of the primary, right engine driven hydraulic system pump, the electric Auxiliary Hydraulic Pump will supply hydraulic system pressure allowing gear retraction and/or flap extension/retraction. Auxiliary Electric Dorr Seal Pump: The Machen Auxiliary Electriv Door Seal Pump consists of an electrically driven air pump and console mounted. 2 position selector switch marked normal/electric. If the electric position is selected, an optional electric motor will inflate the door and emergency exit seal. This provides a back-up for the pumps as well as prolonging their service life. Aileron Trim System: Electrical Aileron Trim Tab that allows to compensate a wing-low situation in case of uneven fuel burn. Air Conditioning: Replaces the factory installed electrical A/C system. This system is engine driven and eliminates high electrical loads associated with the factory installation. Fuel Flow Computer: Shading DIGIFlO maintains a highly accurate control of each engine fuel consumption(within 2%). Provides Digital Display of gallons remaining, time remaining and gallons used; all at a glance. Digital OAT Guage: Eliminates the need for the regular probe and accurately displays the Outside Air Temperature Digitally Other Installed Options Machen Super Soundproofing Package Tinted Inner Windows Machen Aerodynamics Package Aileron HIgne Spacer Kit Polished Chrome Props and Spinners High Performance Static Wicks Heavy Duty Main Gear Scissors Kit Machen Cleveland Jumbo Brake Kit Machen Fire-Resistant Engine Hose Kit 35 AH Single Upgrade Kit Door Ajar Warning System Fire Detector Kit
