Sino Swearingen Aircraft Company has named Columbia Aircraft Sales, Inc. of Groton, Conn., as a distributor for SJ30-2 business jets with responsibility for the states of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Mass, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. Columbia has ordered nine SJ30-2 business jets, with the first scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 1999. The remainder will be delivered at a rate of one per quarter through the end of 2001. The SJ30-2 is a six to seven place business jet with a 2,500 nautical mile NBAA IFR range. It will fly at speeds in excess of Mach .8, operate at altitudes up to FL490, and be certified for single pilot operation. The SJ30-2 business jet represents a breakthrough design that will give customers a combination of greater range, greater speed, and higher altitude capability more economically than any previous twin engine business jet.
