    Description
Express S-90 Project $65,000 Watson Aircraft, LLC Phone: 858-277-8818, [email protected] March 25, 2007 Wheeler Express S-90. S/N # 20006. Fuselage wings and surfaces complete. This is a special project, intended to utilize the world’s most popular turbine, the RR-B250 (or the new RR-300). With a 150% increase in power and the ability cruise at 20,000 ft a TAS of 220+ kts can be expected and significant over-the-weather capability. This can be your affordable “personal Pilatus” ! All parts are included such as seats (4), the new Grove Aircraft aluminum gear with the line bored brake line, wheels, tires and tubes, etc. The controls have been installed, all control surfaces balanced prior to final paint. The windshield has not been installed to allow unfettered access for instrument panel installations. The externals have been filled and finished to near sailplane quality. The interior is unfinished. No jigs needed to complete. (The cavernous cabin was to be utilized for sensors such as EO/IR, SAR and other for use as a homeland security aircraft.) This project includes the design of a new engine mount to mate the turbine with the airframe and nose gear. This mount design to Part 23, Utility Category, has been reviewed using FEA to confirm the stresses, loads, mount modal frequencies to insure its suitability with the Express. Engine isolators to interface the engine and the mount have been fabricated. The S-90 Express with it’s large vertical tail surfaces has been analyzed, in particular as relates to directional stability and remains in the optimum range. To accommodate the much lighter turbine engine (212# versus ~485#) the engine mount moves the engine 20 inches forward for cg purposes, and molds for cowlings (upper and lower) have been fabricated. With this location of the engine the aircraft will be balanced at the forward limit with pilot and zero fuel for maximum utilization of the cg range. An engine mount and cowlings are also included for the installation of a TCM IIO-550, the most often installed piston engine. An IO-520 (285 HP) can also be included but it will require a new engine mount and some small tail ballast. Pictures and additional information are available upon request. Serious enquires only please. We would consider partnering to complete.
