Description
Ol’ No 1 has been JAARS’ good-will ambassador for over three decades. This amazing airplane has entertained huge crowds at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh to small gatherings in Pennsylvania Dutch country and everywhere in between. ‘Two Four Two Bravo” was manufactured in 1954 by Fleet Aircraft in Ontario, Canada as a prototype model of the Helio Courier, it was later certified as Helio serial #001. It was used as a factory demonstration aircraft for many years until it was sold to a private businessman who donated it to JAARS. It has been JAARS flagship ever since. It has been meticulously maintained since JAARS acquired it.
Because of the changing need in missionary aviation Ol No 1 is being made available for purchase. JAARS is responding to the need for turbine aircraft, larger payload capability and is phasing out some of it's Helio inventory. The proceeds from the sale of Ol’ No 1 will be used to purchase aircraft such as the Pilatus PC-6, P-12 and Quest Kodiak to continue supporting the humanitarian and literacy work of Wycliffe Bible Translators in remote areas around the world.
