    Description
    The plane started as a 1956 Tri-Pacer. After removing all the fabric, inside and out, -basically stripping down to the bare metal and also removing the landing gear, the following modifications were made: The Fuselage Tail Section--Reinforced tail section, installed a titanium tailwheel stinger up through first bay forward of tail post. Installed XP Mod 14" with 500x5" tailwheel (it's big) Increased height of vertical stabilizer by 8" and third hinge is installed in middle of rudder for extra support. A jackscrew was constructed to trim the leading edge of the horizontal stabilizer-jack screw also supports horizontal section with a diagnonal brace that goes out to increase support of horizontal stabilizers. Super Cub type elevator and horizontal stabilizers were constructed Fuselage Univair gear conversion. Gear legs were lengthened 6". Installed Grumman AgCat wheels and Brakes (10" wheels with 29" tires) Another frame ! section was added between the trailing edge of the wing and tail feathers to add 22" to the fuselage. Seperate storage compartment added for survival gear. Float fittings were added and braced to the firewall from the back seat frame section. Battery is aft of the baggage compartment. A hydraulic flap actuator is installed. Swing out engine mount utilizing a fifth motor mount center top. Cessna 150 brake and rudder pedals. Wings The wings were lengthened 40" each. Additional fuel tanks installed in each wing (72 gallons total) Flaps and ailerons were lengthened 20" each with cord increased by 2". Demer wing tips with strobes. Landing lights in both wings. Leading edge cuff and VG's installed. The Ultimate Backcountry Piper Aircraft
