    Description
The UTVA 66 is a STOL aircraft designed for rough field operations. The aircraft is equipped with leading edge slots, flaps, flaperons, a 340 hp Lycoming GSO480-B1J6 engine and a Hartzell three-blade constant speed propeller enabling it to achieve outstanding performance. It is a large four place aircraft incorporating dual operating controls, balanced flight control surfaces, rudder and elevator trim. As an illustration of the interior size of the aircraft, in the "air ambulance" configuration, the right front and rear seats were removed allowing two stretchers to be inserted through the upward opening rear windows and carried one above the other on the right side with the pilot and a medical person to be seated on the left. The aircraft may be fitted with either floats or skis. The UTVA 66 was derived from the UTVA 56, which was first produced in 1959. The UTVA 66 was put in production in the late 1960's. No longer in production, a total of approximately 130 UTVA 66's were built. The UTVA factory, located in Pancevo, near Belgrade, Yugoslavia, was re-purposed in 1987 in order to compete in the post "cold war" economy. The factory is still in operation and spares are readily available. The UTVA 66 design was developed remembering lessons learned while fighting the German Occupation Forces in the Balkans during WW II. Developed as a multi-purpose aircraft, the design was used in numerous roles by the military as well as civilian operators. The Utva-66 was made in Yugoslavia by Lola-Utva Corp. 340 HP Lycoming Engine - a GSO480B1A6 - This Engine is Supercharged , Geared, Fuel Injected to Produce High Power at Higher Altitudes or High Ambient Air Temperatures Hartzell 3 Bladed Constant Speed Prop Includes a Prop Spinner Exhaust Hush Kit Functional Glider Tow Hooks Drooping Ailerons and Slotted Leading Edges, Full STOL Performance! The UTVA is classified ex-military experimental and is not eligible for commercial use. They fly like a cub and are best described as a cross between a Beaver and a Cessna 206! Because aircraft are experimental, maintenance is much more reasonable - do what you want, even make or substitute parts. The 340 HP engines are available surplus for as little as $7000.
