Cub history: The Sport Cub S2 is literally a reinvention of the classic Piper Super Cub. It features the same super-strong, lightweight airframe as the top-of-the-line Carbon Cub SS. This is an airplane that you take to for the simple joy of flying. Cruise low over fresh mown fields - open the windows and hang your elbow out. Follow the curves of a river. When you see an inviting gravel bank, extend the flaps and drop in for a picnic or even an overnight camping adventure. (There's space for up to 120 pounds of cargo.) When it's time to go, an amazingly short takeoff and you're back in the air. The S2 puts you in touch with the very essence of stick and rudder flying, complimented with thoroughly modern touches such as adjustable seating, cabin heating and standard AmSafe airbags. Thanks to the extensive use of weight-saving carbon fiber, the S2, with a 100 horsepower Continental engine, delivers a climb rate comparable to regular aircraft with 50% more power.
