The Pazmany PL2A is an all metal airplane and is notably a well designed and well built airplane, as is evident by the amount of closely located flush-mounted rivits to be found in the entire airframe. This one was built from the original plans by a Qantas engineer, back in 1985. The Pazmany PL2A is an advanced 2 seater plane (flys like a big 6 seater) and has a Lycoming IO 320 (150 hp) engine coupled to a CSU and gets along at 120 kts. Would suit someone with good flying experience who wants to keep there hand in at an affordable level. This plane flys very differently to your average Piper or Cessna; it has a modern autopilot coupled to a Garmin GPS with a CSU, 3 fuel tanks and a fuel management system with good fuel leaning ability thus a great plane for someone who wants to rack up some commercial flight training hours for their log book or have some fun running around Australia. I have owned this plane for the past twelve years (during this time I spent a lot of money on refurbishing the plane) and completed my CPL training - I also completed my CPL flight test in this same plane. Have just had both wing-tip fuel tanks removed and re-sloshed with fuel tank sealer - at the same time we stripped and repainted the complete outer section of the wing tip tanks before reinstalling them. We are in the process of fitting a new wind screen and new wing tip light covers. Have ordered a new (specially made) canopy cover from Bruce Airplane Covers in USA which will be here very soon. I am selling he Pazmany to upgrade to a 4 seater IFR plane - would consider trading this Pazmany up to a 4 seater capable of being upgraded to IFR. If you research the Pazmany PL2A you will find two or three Asian countries Air-Force building this very same Pazmany PL2A models, from original plans, still to this very day. As I understand it, thes same Asian Air-Force organizations teach their trainee engineers how to build planes by having them build the Pazmany PL2A from scratch - they then use the finished product to teach their pilots how to fly the Pazmany before moving them on to fighter jets thereafter. The Pazmany PL2A is certified and used as an aerobatic machine in many countries around the world, such as USA, NZ, UK and various other countries, however, I believe there are only four of these Pazmany PL2A currently in Australia and it seems no one has taken the trouble to apply for aerobatic certification for them inAustralia.
