Description
SEAWIND DESCRIPTION
All Seawinds are versatile fast amphibians offering the thrill of water flying and an expansion of range to wild and beautiful landscapes. With a Seawind it is possible to leave any airport, fly 400 miles to a week-long fishing trip with family or friends to a remote lake and then return to homebase without refueling.
Now enter the Super Seawind sporting vast improvements like a Pratt & Whitney turbine engine, a five-blade MT constant speed propeller, a Garmin G900X, (the G1000 equivalent flight deck for Experimental aircraft), a Grand Rapids PFD/MFD/EIS with synthetic vision, SV, full flight checklists, and highway in the sky, HITS, and finally a fail-safe autopilot that will take you from your departure airport or lake, all the way to 200’ above your destination threshold – and it will do it fast! Clouds? With a 24,000’ ceiling and two-place oxygen, a Super Seawind has lots of options to fly above it all - at possible TAS over 200 Kts. That puts your 400-mile lake vacation less than two hours away – and towering above even the standard Seawind. Now that’s flying!
Furthermore, with up to a ten-foot cargo bay and a useful load of over 1,000 pounds, you won’t have to worry about leaving valuable gear behind. You can even pack a bike, inflatable dingy/kayak, or a folding kayak for cargo. Finally, the Super Seawind is really two airplanes rolled into one. Besides duplicate systems from nose to tail, a Super Seawind with STOL is at first a very capable land plane, yet it also acts as a boat in the water landing and leaving it on its water rudder-controlled hull.
Some special features include: 50-mile forward synthetic vision, airborne weather, autopilot coupled to either one of two FMS, topside emergency exit, and other safety-focused features like additional engine monitors. The Super Seawind; few have flown it, all love it. I hope you will too.
