The Aero AT-3 is a Polish built aircraft certified in the EASA CS-VLA (Very Light Aircraft) category. It is designed as a low cost, low maintenance basic training aircraft, also suitable for economical touring. It has a max. cruise speed of 119 kts (+xxx kmh) and a range of over 800 km. With a fuel consumption of around 14-16 litres per hour and a base price of just €87,1001, the AT-3 offers unbeatable economy in its class. Costs per hour for flying schools and private owners alike can be cut by half, compared to the standard training and club aircraft commonly used today. The all-metal construction is ideal for an aircraft that must withstand the duress of the pilot training environment. Components are anodized for corrosion protection. Solid rivets are primarily used in construction for strength and durability. The Aero AT-3 has a robust, maintenance free sprung steel landing gear. The nose wheel is free castoring and the aircraft is equipped with effective, independent toe brakes facilitating excellent ground manoeuvrability with a small turning circle. The large, high quality canopy allows for excellent all-round visibility. The canopy opens forward for easy access to the cockpit. The aircraft is fitted with an electronic stall warner providing both a visual and acoustic warning. The AT-3 is powered by the reliable Rotax 912S engine providing 100 hp. The aircraft is fitted with a specially designed 3-bladed aero-elastic, ground adjustable carbon-fibre ELPROP propeller to increase performance while reducing noise. Engine controls include choke and carburettor heating. There is also an optional control to adjust oil temperature.The aircraft is equipped with large, mechanically operated 3-stage split flaps (0, 15 and 40 degrees) and mechanical elevator trim, for reliability and safety, and has an excellent short-field performance. The dual control cockpit of the AT-3 is ergonomically laid out to the highest standards. A comprehensive choice instrumentation and avionics options is available. The panel has a clear and logical layout. The comfortable seats have attractive 2-tone leather upholstery. Other options include nav/com, moving map GPS, landing, taxi and navigation lights.
