The final 20 Model 17 Staggerwings were the G17S models. Some collectors call these airplanes the “Holy Grail” of collector Airplanes. Manufactured in 1946 and assembled in the factory between 1946 and 1949 (except for B-20 which was assembled in Texas not in the Beech Factory), the G17S was the pinnacle Model 17 Staggerwing produced by Beechcraft and was only offered as a custom built machine, hence the low production numbers. There have been many D17 conversions to G17s but only 20 original G17S models.
N700N was the nineteenth and the final G17S to come off the assembly line in 1949. We also have N99DV (B-9) for sale here at Valle which was the ninth G17S out of the factory!
This airplane is gorgeous. The most advanced and developed of the Model 17s, the G17S models were, as mentioned above, custom built to order.
It has been hangered here in AZ where there are no humidity concerns. It was last annualled in July 2014 but our IA ran it up this summer 2022 and checked engine compression and controls and everything checked out perfectly. The new owner will be responsible for doing their own annual.
