    Description
Comments Here's your chance to become the new custodian of a truly unique aircraft - a Yak 18T 4 seat fully aerobatic airplane used to train Aeroflot pilots in Soviet Russia. A series II model built in 1993 - one of the last off the production line at Smolensk. Purchased and imported in a 40' container from Richard Goode (RG) in 2008. Previous registration HA-YAH, previous to that RA-44470 (featured in the February edition of "'Pilot" magazine - see pic and copy available by email on request), with the original multi pane windscreen as fitted in the factory. However it has since been upgraded to a wrap around 2 piece windscreen providing greater visibility compared to the original multi pane screen. Two large automotive sized doors. Flown regularly as shown in the Maintenance releases. Always hangered at Toowoomba airport (YTWB). Certified for NVFR operations. Maintained by Cameron Rolfe-Smith at Performance Aero Archerfield since 2015 Very reliable and easy to fly/land. Short field and grass strips no problem with a sturdy retractable undercarriage and large wheels & with a large flap (more a speed brake), and very responsive & powerful engine (360 HP). Mostly original instrumentation including the AHI (you get used to it), altitude instrument has been changed to feet, airspeed is calibrated in Klm/hour (cruises at 220 @ 65% rpm 55 litres/hour), VSI is calibrated in metres/second. You get a RMI which is accurate and very stable (no regular adjustments required in flight). Original electrical system apart from the battery which consists of 2 x 12 volt sealed lead acid batteries in series located in a compartment inside the starboard inner wing. Fuel system is very simple with no selectors - tanks drain into the central collector tank under gravity, with fuel in the auxiliary tank in the luggage compartment draining first before the main tanks. Can run auto fuel at a pinch if you get caught out somewhere out back of beyond as long as you don't fly high to refuel at a place with Avgas. Includes airplane cover and propeller cover, as well as a hangar towbar, portable towbar, $600 or more of suitable engine oil (W100+ & W120 & W100), full original documentation. Logbooks available for viewing at Performance Aero. Engine Specifications M14-P 9 cylinder supercharged radial, producing 360 HP. Only run a total of 496 hours since installed Pressure compensated updraft carburettor - no mixture control Engine oil filter system installed prior to shipping in 2008 Constant speed propeller. Automotive plug conversion installed 2013, Jim Kimball intake drain and oil shut-off system including 24 volt scavenge pump installed 2009. New hoses fitted 2013 Propeller overhauled in 2015 Compressor shear coupling and gasket replaced in 2020 Avionics Dual Becker VHF radios, Bendix/King transponder. KNS80 VOR/DME, Telex intercom system. Interior Full leather interior trim to all 4 seats, including 5 point Hooker harnesses for Pilot and Co-pilot Exterior Tail fin, horizontal stabilizer, elevators and ailerons have been recovered and painted in 2013 - in good condition. Wings outboard of the metal section are fabric in good condition but the paint on that section has not been applied properly (previous owner), and is surface cracking. Still signed off annually as being airworthy though. Additional Features Auxiliary fuel tank located in the baggage compartment holding up to 90 litres, total 270 litres including 2 wing tanks - all gravity feed to the collector tank which means a simple & reliable fuel system Certified for NVFR operations
