Description
1979 Beechcraft Skipper ... one of a kind! With only 2017 hours total time on the airframe and engine with a 2400-hour TBO! Used to get my flying skills back, take family or friends places and enjoy being back in the air. Now that my flying skills are back, it's time to sell the Skipper and get a 4-place plane.
Since I have owned this Skipper over the last 1 1/2 years, I have put about $20k into updating instruments (Digital EGT, DG, Digital Fuel Flow Meter) and replaced a number of old parts to make it a wonderful and dependable plane to fly. One magneto was rebuilt and the other is a Sure Fly Electronic Ignition. New battery, weather strip seals, new main gear tubes, tires and brakes, new spark plugs and harness, new rubber engine mounts and much more. Conducted all 4 cylinders Top Overall (STOH) during a recent and extensive Annual on February 28, 2023. Complete logbooks, no known damage history and always hangered.
The Skipper is a very comfortable two place plane to fly with a wide cockpit that makes every other two place plane feel like a sardine can. True to the Beechcraft legacy, it is overbuilt and very solid with a stronger 115hp engine.
If you are in the market for a 150/152 or Tomahawk, give this Skipper a second look. It is better built, and much more comfortable on the inside with that wide cabin and all metal panel. The Skipper trims out very easily (has rudder trim too) and is truly great for training maneuvers, pattern practice and is a great cross country time builder (VFR or IFR). A lot of fun to fly and comfortable to sit in for hours at a time.
