Description
2006 RV6-A purchased from the aerospace engineer builder in 2015 always hangered, no major problems. Hangered in Steamboat springs CO KSBS in a heated hangar, low humidity. 800 hours on the airframe, motor and prop, is flown regularly and is a healthy plane. Capable of IFR flight but I only Fly in VFR conditions with this aircraft. Extremely economical to fly and maintain you can’t get this kind of utility out of any other kind of plane especially certified. So much fun to fly, feels like Top Gun!
Performance
190 MPH, 165 kt cruise speed
Burns 7-10 gallons per hr. depending on altitude
Climbs really strong
Can reach the flight levels 20,000ft +
Land in under 1000’ at this elevation if you do short field technique (1500’ typical)
100 lbs. of baggage
Fully aerobatic and can do pretty much any maneuver but I tend to keep it basic nowadays
This is an excellent plane but the value of this partnership also lies in the Hanger that I have at KSBS. The Waitlist at the airport is 20-30 people long and this is one of the best locations on the field. 30’X35’ bi fold door, semi heated never gets below freezing even when its -30F outside. Has all the amenities for a successful flight program, great relationship with multiple A&P’s on the field just one hangar away. Defiantly one of the coolest airports to operate out of, west coast in 4 hrs. Vegas in 3hrs. Denver in 45 minutes.
Seeking a responsible individual to split overhead costs of ownership for ½ share of the aircraft. I used to fly about 120 hrs. per year now its more like 60 hrs. per year. Great plane don’t want to get rid of it but could use someone else to enjoy it with as I travel more internationally now a days.

JPI EDM 930 engine analyzer, best in the biz, numerous fail safes to keep the engine healthy for instance if you are in risk of shock cooling the cylinders or if anything goes out of the green it alerts the pilot.
Dynon D10A AHRS this thing is great does all the trigonometry in real time and gives ingo such as; true airspeed, wind direction and velocity, attitude, air speed, vert speed, altimeter, compass turn coordinator, G loading, 2 Hr. dedicated battery backup. You can pretty much fly with just this alone and don’t need a 200K panel to get the job done.
