    1935 Waco UMF-5 built from original Waco blueprints obtained from the Smithsonian Institute. Constructed by John Hudec. Construction began in 1991 and was completed in March of 2004 with 9400 hours of work. Between 2004 and 2009 the airplane received 25 awards including, but not limited to, National Biplane Expo Aircraftmanship Award , Blakesburg Grand Champion Homebuilt, Tulsa Grand Champion Experimental, EAA Mid America Best of Show and Oshkosh Replica Champion. The airplane looks as good today as it did at its last showing. It is stunning.

    The engine was a new Continental W-670-9A (220 HP) built in 1943 and pickled by the military. It was disassembled, cleaned, inspected, painted and plated before installation.
