    General Specs Aircraft Type: 2007 WH4 Harpoon (Beechcraft Baron B55 Single Engine Turbine Conversion) # of Seats: 4 + 1 Jump Seat for small child Detailed Description This airplane is one of only 8 that are flying. No expense was spared in building, improving and maintaining this plane. Truly an incredibly versatile and great performing airplane. 225-230 knots w/ 1500-3000 fpm climb capability depending on how much weight and passengers it is carrying. Want a single engine turbine in the certified category equivalent be prepared to spend $1.2 to $1.5 million minimum. This plane can be bought for less than ½ of that amount as it is in the amateur home-built category. Get the certainty of a Beechcraft Baron airframe with much greater performance and dependability of the 725 HP Walter 601D turbine engine. Plane was inspected annually and maintained as certified Baron airplane with no expense spared. Parts for airframe are in abundance as it is a Beechcraft Baron B55 airframe. Avionics, four place O2 system, auxiliary air-conditioning and heater with altimeter sensor built-in are all state of the art. Regularly fly IFR minimum approaches with avionics and auto-pilot being right on and operate very predictably. Added the 100-gallon tip fiberglass “Dolly Parton” tip tanks w/ inboard viewing windows in 2019. Made a very good airplane, great providing incredible fuel load, mission capability, speed and/or personnel transport capability. I really wish I didn’t have to sell it because I know I will probably not see another one for sale in the future, however I am moving up to twin engine pressurized and don’t have the need for two airplanes. Plane will be sold with a fresh annual inspection and ready to fly!

    Frequently Asked Questions: • What is performance & fuel burns for this plane? o Speed  230 knots TAS @ 10-12K @ 50-53 gallons per hour in winter  225 knots TAS @ 10-12K @ 48-50 gallons in summer  190 knots TAS @ 10-12K @ 40 gallons per hour o Climb  Single Pilot can climb easily at 3,000 fpm up to 6K then 1,500-2,000 fpm after o Stall Speed  42 knots – very forgiving w/ big Baron wings on single engine turbine o Fuel Duration  160 gallons in tip tanks (80 gallons each) + 136 gallons useable in mains for amazing total of 300 gallons  6 hrs. Max Cruise @ 50 gallons per hour – 1350 miles  7 ½ hrs. Economy Cruise @ 40 gallons per hour – 1460 miles o Weight & Balance  Plane was designed & built to maintain same W&B as Baron B55. Even with 100-gallon tip tanks CG only moves 1” aft  Four full size adults + full mains and 20 gallons in each tip tank (180 gallons) will provide 3.75 hrs. of duration or approximately 850 miles of distance  Single pilot and 300 gallons of fuel will allow for 1350-1460 miles of fuel duration • Insurance Questions o Don’t plan on getting insured in this airplane unless you have a minimum of 500 hrs. of flight experience with an instrument rating and at least 200 of those hours in the high horsepower complex category o Insurance is roughly $12K per year at insured value of $550K unless you plan on self-insuring the airplane • Why aren’t their more of these airplanes in existence? o There are only 6 of these airplanes in the amateur home-built experimental category. This is the category that you want to be in as there are no restrictions on where you can fly this plane within the U.S. o Builder of this airplane (Wendell Hall Aviation – South Carolina) built 8 of these before other builders in other parts of U.S. began to do the same thing. FSDO offices in others parts of U.S. told those builders they cannot take a certified twin engine airframe and convert it to single engine turbine and call it “homebuilt”. FAA FSDO then stopped allowing any additional planes to be placed into the amateur home-built category. They grandfathered all 8 Harpoon planes in existence to remain in the amateur homebuilt category. Anyone wishing to have other planes like this built must do so in the exhibition experimental category which has several unknowns as far as flight restrictions in certain parts of the U.S. • How much to overhaul this turbine engine and what is TBO on it? o This engine can be overhauled by Turbine Power Technologies in Deland, FL for $45K. This is same price for overhaul of many piston engines. TBO on the engine is 1500 hrs. and although not required 300 hr. inspections are recommended. Engine currently has approx. 500 hrs. on it. ***I am selling this aircraft on the condition that the buyer gives me first right of refusal to buy it back from them if they ever sell it in the future***
